Bella's New Clothes (Project 365/2010)

Our puppies are home from their "big" day. Jake is Jake. No change in him, raring to go and doesn't want to be kept down. Unfortunately he HAS to. Bella, on the other hand, I can completely empathize with. Her legs are shaky and she is clearly in pain. The vet suggested putting a shirt on her to keep her away from her incision. Hubby said when we got the puppies I couldn't dress them. he he he Tonight she is sporting a t-shirt her big (human) sister wore last summer, and she looks good in it. :) Giving them their first doses of antibiotics and pain medication was uneventful. I pray the next 10 days fly by quickly.

Dapper Dog (Project 365/2010)

Tomorrow morning at 7:30 am, Bella & Jake check in to have their surgeries. You know the ones I'm talking about. We don't want any inbred Cocker Spaniel puppies running around. ;) They needed to be bathed and clipped before their big procedures. We called on a mobile pet grooming company, appropriately titled, "Dapper Dog." Now they are pretty (and handsome) and ready for their big day tomorrow. We'll be saying some extra special prayers in the morning that everything goes routine and welcome them home tomorrow afternoon.

Doggone Adorable

I have had her website bookmarked for years...YEARS! It was never the "right" time and I was fed up waiting. I contacted Sheena, on the off chance she would have a liter coming up. As it turned out, she had a couple puppies from her last liter still available and sent a couple pictures.

We fell in love with the red pup, whose white stripe down his face. Hubby was leaning towards a female pup. Alas, the gorgeous red was a male. POO! Dylan had already picked her name, starting with Tinkerbell, then Bell, lastly Bella.

After the kids kept insisting we get both, and let's face it, I really wanted the red puppy, Hubby laid out the argument for adopting both. I, of course, was the last to sign on.

I contacted Sheena again, asking about the possibility of adopting both puppies. After getting all the information we needed, and making Pet Smart very happy with a triple digit purchase for these new additions, we adopted Bella and Jake today.
